Summer Perfume

I have had this perfume about a year.. and i go through phases of loving it.. and the going off it a bit. However right now I am loving it.. The perfume I am talking about is Paul Smith Floral. This is, as the name suggests, a floral scent which smells very sweet. Obviously this isn't going to be to everyones tastes, but i think its so light its just perfect to wear daily throughout summer.
The packaging of the perfume is very simple, white box and bottle with pink writing and an orange lid... I'm not quite sure how much it retails for, I bought mine last year on a ferry coming back from France. I wouldn't say the smell lasts too long though, which is its only downfall.

Sorry todays posts is brief, until next time..

I Been California Wishing On These Stars...

I'm sorry for not blogging these past couple of weeks, however exams and revision took control and even when i wasn't revising i was just too tired to be bothered with much else, however my exams are nearly over (with one to go in a couple of week) and I'm determined to get back to blogging.

I decided that since I hadn't really bought much lately that was really review worthy I would write a little book review instead. At christmas my friend bought me the book 'Falling' by Sharon Dogar because I had borrowed a book from her by the same author and loved it. Because of how much I had loved the other book I had high expectations of the storyline and the writing. Safe to say I was not let down, Yet again the writing is lovely and the only reason it took me so long to read is because I was scared of what was going to happen! (yes it sounds sad but i get like that with books.. and films!)

The Back of the book says...
'Neesha is afraid - haunted by the fragments of a nightmare about a girl falling, far away and a long time ago.
Just when the echoes in her head overwhelm her, a boy unexpectedly comes to her rescue.
Handsome and talented, Sammy finds himself drawn to Neesha - but it's only when they come together that they begin to realise why.
Are they falling in love or being pulled in from the past - fated to replay a love affair that ended in blood?'

At First I imagined this to be a typical kind of love story, and going on the age of the characters (16-17) I would of said thats the age this book is aimed at. However there is definitely a depth to the book which is very dark and it covers very current themes like racism and also mental illness through one of the characters. I think these make it much more readable for older people as well.

Overall this was a lovely book and i love the artwork on the cover! I don't think that Sharon Dogar has many books out and if anyone has read any please comment :)

2 May 2011

the dreams that you dare you dream really do come true.

I have decided that every month I am going to do a blog post on the things that if i had the money right now, I would of bought. I hope you enjoy :)

1. FoxyLocks Extensions - These have had such amazing reviews and after deciding not to grow my hair much longer to keep it looking healthy, I decided i would save up for some decent hair extensions for those days where I'm missing my long hair.

2. A 1 Inch Hair Curling Iron. -  I know these arent really that expensive, but being in school and not having a job means this is another thing to go on my wishlist. I really want something to help me achieve loosely curled hair and have done for ages now, but when i got my hair cut to my shoulders and had the money to buy one, it wasnt on my mind!

3. MAC face and body foundation - I have heard such good reviews about this product, and as far as MAC products go it is such good value for money.. I think it works out as cheaper than buying the amount of average priced drugstore foundation needed to fill the bottle. It is also a water based foundation which means its going to be better for my skin!

4.Sigma 12 brush brush set - I currently do not own any MAC or SIGMA make up brushes, and the set i have my eye on here has all the brushes I can see myself needing!

Like I said I hope you enjoyed reading this post, I'm sorry for the lack of pictures, I dont like using other peoples pictures in my posts :) I dont think I will be in possesion of these unless I get a job anytime soon ... but a girl can dream.
